This is class one of a 2-part series. It has been revised as a 2 hour session with an interactive Q & A for WordPress beginners with little or no understanding of Search Engine Optimization, SEO. This session presents the purpose of SEO and basic SEO concepts, as well as, the key factors to improve SEO.

This class discusses the following topics:
• Keyword Analysis, Selection & Placement
• Relevant Content
• Call to Action
• Popularity & Link Relevancy
• Search Engine Indexing
• Ranking

This is an introductory SEO class and lays down the foundation needed to know about SEO. This session is a prerequisite for the follow-on class WordPress SEO Basics for next week. The follow-up “Hands-on SEO for Local Business Websites” class will use the SEO concepts and vocabulary presented and will be devoted to on-site hands-on SEO using the Yoast plugin.

The venue has a capacity for 80 attendees.
