Asking for Help: How to Collect Online Donations when Disaster Strikes

In light of the two back-to-back hurricanes we’ve experienced in the Tampa Bay area, we’re going to pivot our regular Ask Us Anything live stream to help those who are looking at ways to collect donations for emergency supplies, food or covering the many financial hardships that occur during a disaster.

If you’re an individual, there are free tools that can help you collect donations. If you’re a small business that already has a website, there are WordPress tools that can help you collect donations to get your business back moving again.

We’ll discuss GiveWP, a free WordPress tool that includes donation forms and payment gateways. We’ll also discuss the various funding platforms and the pros and cons of the different options. We’ll also discuss how to get your message out there and some suggestions for how to ask for help that will get your message across.

This will be a livestreamed event, and we’ll be taking questions on Facebook Live and YouTube.
