Choosing WordPress Themes & Website Review
Meetup: Tampa Bay (formerly St. Petersburg)
Featured Speaker: Jim True
How do you go about picking theme for your websites when there are thousands of them out there? We’ll go over what constitutes a WordPress Theme (what its parts are) and give a quick overview of Child Themes. We’ll discuss the difference between Builders & Themes and give some pointers of what to beware of when shopping for themes and things you should look for before plopping down your hard-earned money on a premium theme.
We’ll also be doing website reviews to help illustrate things to look for in picking a theme, so if you’d like to have your website & theme reviewed for this Meetup, respond in the comments below. This should be a fun and informative Meetup, so come prepared with your questions and suggestions of themes you like and themes you hate (and why). We will not be recommending any specific themes as the BEST themes; we’ll be looking more at which themes are the most flexible and provide the best support.

Important: Our St. Petersburg WordPress meetups tend to be geared more ‘technical’ and agency/entrepeneur/freelance-oriented but we welcome beginners and clients who have WordPress websites, too. Everyone’s an expert at something just be prepared to learn and engage.
