Hands-on SEO for Local Business Websites
Meetup: Tampa & Ybor
Featured Speaker: Alphonso Montibello
This class was previous given on February 16
This session is the second class that follows the “SEO Introduction” class given on July 12. This session will take the material to the next level and perform practical tasks to implement SEO in real time.
We will start with a specific topic and perform a keyword analysis using the Google AdWords Tool — Keyword Planner and identify the top keywords for the given topic and discover insights about the topic.
Next, we will discuss the content layout of a WordPress page with keyword placement, keyword signals, taxonomies, (categories & tags) and page hierarchy. We will create a post in WordPress and develop the content using the WordPress Editor and evaluate the keywords with the free version of the Yoast Plugin. We will incorporate best practices to achieve our business goals and appeal to the target audience.
This is an interactive class. We will show the hands-on operation using an on-line connect to the backend of a WordPress site and other web properties. The purpose is to show on the big screen a predefined scenario and explain actions that are being performed to improve SEO.
As part of the class for this example website, we will create a Google Analytics account for the site and a Google Search Console entry. We will demonstrate the setting of domain preference, fetching a page, request indexing, submit the sitemap, index status, etc. We will also do a quick Google Analytics review of the example site.
I know there is a lot of stuff to go through. So, I am allocating 2 hours to cover the example site, SEO material, class interaction and Q & A, while performing on-line tasks and demonstrating the SEO inclusion using practical hands-on activities with WordPress and Google applications to enhance the SEO of the example post.
See you at class.
